Peru: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

“You say you’re a writer,” a rude Colombian once sniffed at me.

“But you never write anything.”

Hmmph. I rarely claim to be a writer and anyway, sometimes you’re too busy living life to describe it – does that explain my mere two entries on Peru?

I may have fallen in love with this country, but it hasn’t been easy. I’ve been conned, robbed and hit upon. I’ve lost two hats, £200 and my cash card.

But, whatever, I’d repeat those experiences a dozen times for the marvels I’ve found here – the mountains, the lakes, the cities, the history, the people…

So why do I love Peru? (well, I think the next six entries are very good reasons)
